Our first full day in Paris. It rained on us, but I didn't care because we were in Paris :)
At the Louvre. It was raining again so we decided it would be a good day to spend shuffling around inside a museum.
A look back on the Louvre. Yes, we did the whole thing in one day. Even all the rooms full of vases.
There is a beautiful cathedral on top on the only hill in Paris called Sacre Coeur (Sacred Heart). This is the view from the steps our front....even though you can't see it.
Top of Notre Dame. It was cold and windy, and one of my favorite parts of the trip.
Ben with the famous bored gargoyle.
More of Notre Dame.
Enjoying the most delicious hot chocolate in the whole world (at Angelina's on Rue Rivoli for those of you who may end up in the neighborhood). We came here 3 times on our 9 day trip.
Rich molten chocolate with a dollop of unsweetened cream to "thin" it down. mmmmm
Singin' in the rain at Place de la Concorde.
Ben at the top of the Arc de Triomphe.
Admiring the Eiffel tower from the top of the Arc de Triomphe.
On out way back down the Arc. 283 steps in a dizzying spiral staircase.
Cheesy grin for the camera in front of the Toyota concept car display on the Champs-Élysées.
Tripper recommended we try this place called the Pied de Cochon. Literally 'foot of the pig'. We went for the french onion soup, but Ben decided to try the pig's foot for dinner.
Yup, its a pig's foot alright.
Listening to the guided tour at Les Invalides - Napoleon's Tomb.
Napoleon pretending to be Caesar.
"The way is shut." Entrance to the catacombs.
Ben smiling next to what appears to be a giant pile of carefully stacked femurs.
In front of Notre Dame.
Me enjoying the view of the sparkling Eiffel tower on a dinner boat cruise up the Seine.
Musée d'Orsay. This used to be a train station, now it's a museum.
More Musée d'Orsay
Checking our more concept cars...er, Minivans. Pretty cool stuff.
Under the Eiffel tower there area a bunch of these guys with assault rifles.
